Officially renamed to 肝病研究全國重點實驗室

To align with the overall national development plan, the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC), after discussions with the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) initiated a re-structuring exercise of the SKLs in Hong Kong in late 2023.

Following on-site inspections and evaluations, our laboratory has submitted proposals based on feedback from relevant assessment panels from 2024 to 2025. These efforts have helped us to enhance our research capabilities and address any identified inadequacies.

Approved by The Innovation and Technology Commission and the Ministry of Science and Technology, our laboratory was re-named to “肝病研究全國重點實驗室” , effective from 1 July 2025. The plaque presentation ceremony was held on August 25, 2025, and it was attended by the Chief Executive of HKSAR, Mr. John Lee, the Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Yin Hejun, and other delegates.
